Alberto Giacometti was famous for his long thin sculptures and was said to be influenced by cubism and surrealism. He was not however the originator of this kind of depiction, These movements by the European artists were copied from African art as so many western influences say in music like Jazz or the blues and increasingly Tuareg music.
