Description
We have a number of very fine African bronze sculptures depicting figures who are long and thin their significance and origin is not clear but it may be linked to a depiction of a figure who is a rain bringer. Alberto Giacometti the Swiss artist copied these figures and put his own spin on their meaning which for him signified something obscure about war, isolation from reality and violence. The African depiction is original and much earlier the figures are usually old who were and still are held in very high esteem. Measuring from 20 cm to 45cm.
